Fluidity

Although many paintings in this category have gestural marks, the most definitive paintings in this category are those in which fluid paint, mixing and fusing under my direction, creates an image by itself. That image might be reworked in a labored manner, but the principal architecture of the painting is a result of the paint's obeying the law of gravity. I freely admit I stole this style from Paul Jenkins, as demonstrated by Alan Bates in the movie "An Unmarried Woman."
